**********Contains Spoilers**********

I rated this novella 4.5 Stars so I rounded it up to 5 Stars. I enjoyed this instalment, and it was one of my favourites of the series so far. Tessa is hiking with her 16 year old sister Patience. Tessa could smell rotten-flesh so she tells Patience to wait there and she goes to investigate, she ends up tripping over what she assumed was a stick, but it was half buried remains. So she contacts Henry, the coroner, and her fiancé Logan since a body is the State Forest Park, and he’s the Park Ranger so it’s his jurisdiction. While Henry he looking over the skeletal remains, he finds a medic alert bracelet. Which belongs to Aurora Franklin. Her emergency contact is noted on the bracelet along with his phone number. They contact Tony and find out that Aurora was a college student who’d come to Widow’s Island for a summer job on a Whale Watching charter boat, but ended up being str*ngled and discarded in the Forest. Aurora was m*rdered over a month ago, and not a single Widow’s Island resident reported her missing.

All I can say is that the owner of the Whale Watching Charter boat where Aurora worked was an absolute a*se, especially towards his ex-wife. He slept with her 20 year old niece, yes she’s legal but he knew her when she was a child so it’s morally wrong. The ex-wife isn’t exactly sane though, I suppose after she was cheated on multiple times throughout their marriage but sleeping with her niece was the final straw. She went to the marina, they got in an argument that resulted in her pulling a g*n out of her purse and attempting to sh*ot him. She was sh*oting in a crowded place with other civilians that could’ve been hit. Tessa managed to get her to stop sh*oting, and she was taken into custody and charged with multiple offences, including attempted m*rder. Logan and Tessa are getting pressure from his sister Cate, Tessa’s best friend to finish planning their wedding but they don’t have much time because they’re busy with investigating Aurora’s m*rder. It’s a race against time to find Aurora’s k*ller before another young women is targeted. I’m looking forward to reading the next instalment and finding out what crime Tessa ends up investigating next. I’d definitely recommend this novella, series and both authors to everyone.

I knew it

As soon as we found out vital information about the suspect I knew it was a matter of time. Also the boyfriend seemed way to obsessive and clingy. But the book was good. As always I love Logan and Tessa, they are so cute together and work great as a team. I love that everyone is coming together to help Tessa with her mom!

4.5⭐

Buried Bones is a fast-paced, engaging and extremely enjoyable read. That had me hooked from beginning to end as Tessa and Logan investigate when Tessa and her sister Patience stumble upon remains in the state park. And with an edge of your seat ending and great characters this was a really entertaining bite sized mystery, that I couldn't put down.

Would happily recommend.
