OMG, but you will need tissues to get through this one. I wasn't expecting such an emotional book. My heart broke over and over for Haven. I cried throughout the whole thing! Wow!

I got this from audible and the narration by Chris Chambers was excellent! His emotional reading couldn't have been any better.

This was so cute!! It was a little corny with the whole "keep christmas in your heart," but besides that it was a nice read.

A very sugary yet at the same time, devastating do-over of Scrooge.
I both read the book and listened to the Audio - and I think in this case I preferred the Audiobook. I usually end up drifting off when listening to books so made sure I was in the car. I liked the narrator and I think without seeing the words, some of the dialogue was just cheesy. Whereas when I read the same dialogue, because I was concentrating on the words rather than the feeling, it made me wince at times.
I enjoyed the theme of the story - big bad Kellan, burned by previous experience is not able to cope with any holiday fun. Havan, the not-twink sub, takes everything to heart so when Kellan takes his collar and tells him to get out, of he goes with no coat or anything.
What I did like was that initially Havan was not the completely docile sub when Kellan came creeping back, he was able to stand up for himself. Kellan was not without his own demons so became the more likable as his story unfolded.
Christmas tale with a bit of a twist, but all comes good at the end.

In all honesty, this is only a 2.5 star read. It would have rated higher if it didn't have the magical third arm/hand nor another WTF mix-up moment in it. And that really is a pity, because it's actually a very sweet story.

This book was fine for those into BDSM. It's not my first choice of activity but it was a fine read. there were angels and collars and such

Not the most ridiculous thing I have ever read. There was a scene that was so preposterous. Oral sex isn't just something gay men do.

Ok, here's the thing with Christmas shorts, they always strive to artificially tug the heart strings. And they often turn out too saccharine to stand; unfortunately that's the case here. I just couldn't bear it. And that's after not being able to let go of how horribly Kellen treated Haven. Oh great, he had an epiphany and realized how horrible he was to his sub, good for him. But why exactly was Haven willing to take him back. Nothing had changed from his end and it had only been a couple hours?

This is labeled #1 in a series, but it feels like a sequel. It feels like book two, with book one having dealt with Nick and Mica's relationship. Not to mention the beginnings of Haven and Kellens or the world-building to explain angels and the oft-mentioned leather club. So, is it a spin-off or something?

Lastly, the writing is ok, if a little clumsy in the dialogue. But I am extremely picky about stories that utilize titles in formalized sexual relationships, the Sir, Master, Dominant, Sub, etc that characters say to one another. I have no idea how this works in real life, but in books I find it often comes across as cheesy and unnatural if not written...well, the way I like, I don't know. But often it bothers me, sometimes it doesn't. Here I cringed every times someone said something like, "Can we keep him, Master," or "I'm a dominant, I don't..."

All in all, not horrible, but not a real winner for me. Chris Chambers did a fine job of the narration though.
