I have read this book at least 3 times now and the audiobook is such a gamechanger! One of my favorites of all time. Such a creative plot and a good show of the darkness of man. A Chuck Palahniuk classic!

Again, brilliant. A masterpiece. I couldn't put it down. I wonder if Palahniuk ever gets tired of all this praise. Chucky P, if you're in the habit of googling yourself, you should know that although I've never been the type to want any kids, I think you and I would make some beautifully articulate and talented babies.

I hate to say it, but I may be done with Palahniuk. His stories have always been a literary game of chicken: he pushes and pushes, striving to be more and more extreme/gross/crazy, but through those extremes (and assuming you pay attention) he makes surprisingly insightful points. His more recent books feel more like he's just being extreme for the sake of being extreme. The first two-thirds of the book were just not enjoyable enough (and far too fucked up in a senseless way) to justify reading until the very interesting final third of the book. Maybe I just missed the point of the book, but I wouldn't recommend it.

Y muchos giros. Pero si, me gustó y lo recomiendo.

My prevailing emotion while reading this book was disgust. And I didn't find the twist at the end to be satisfying

I'm not going to review the story here, I'm going to review how this book feels. But first, I feel deeply sorry for people who expect a 'usual' good work when they read Chuck Palahniuk's books. Because Palahaniuk's works are never usual and normal and most of the time they go way too absurd and will make you yell "WTF??????".

So is this book. At first I didn't know how many stars I would give for this book because of that reason above. I hate this book but at the same time I totally love it because it gives me everything I need. I love how things get very destructive and depressive and Mr. Palahniuk gives his readers the most ridiculous and darkest side of human life which can feel very hilarious yet saddening all at the same time. Palahniuk is mean, very mean that he smashes you with that fucking fucked up fictional reality not everyone can't accept. And that's how it should go for the readers, they really have to keep it in mind that every time they're going to read any CP's books they're going to read their own fucked up life multiplied by 3, not merely a book or a story of someone else's life. Therefore, never expect to see a proper writing style with a nice, flawless and heroic character who has a perfect life and a happy ending because most of the time there is no such thing in reality.

That's all I can say about Rant.

I didn't finish this. I read the first 20 pages, the last 20 pages and about 5 reviews and theories from book bloggers. But! It was an interesting conversation at book club.

maybe the weirdest, but also one of the most enthralling books i've ever read...

C'est glauque. C'est très glauque. C'est très TRES glauque...
