I fell in love with Amanda hocking’s writing with her last series and this one was somehow even better. Loved the story, some bits were slow but in the end it was worth it.

It was an okay fast-read, nothing that special. I found the setting to be sort of confusing, because it takes place in the modern age but the beginning sounded more like it was the middle ages. Also, it seemed unrealistic that humans wouldn't have noticed these large communities of trolls. I was expecting more about Bryn's community not accepting her because of her heritage, but it was mostly about her going after the guy who hurt her father. Not especially well written.
I'm sure this book would have been better if I had paid attention, but the entire time I was thinking about something else.
I loved this book. The story line was good, I liked how it was set in a cold place. I don't know why, I always like those books. The friendships were accurately presented. The only thing I didn't like was it was a bit predictable.
Plot: Frostfire was a spur of the moment audio book for me which I found on YouTube, which has opened a whole world of possibilities to me! The plot was interesting and I really liked the concept. Alongside 2015 modern life there are tribes and many of the tribes children are sent to live with ‰Ычhost‰ЫЄ families until they are taken back by trackers when they are ready. One of these trackers is Bryn who has had a harder life growing up in her tribe as she is a ‰Ычhalf-blood‰ЫЄ. The story starts with action straight away, setting up the plot before we get the background which really drew me in to the story. We then follow Bryn and her trying to protect their changelings from two men who are out to get them. I loved the fantasy mixed so well in to modern life, I love that idea!
Characters: Bryn was a brilliant character, she was level headed and her love for literature made me happy! She had a lot of inner battles which gave her a lot of layers. She was really well described and you found out about a lot of her past and her inner feelings which I love to know.
Ridley was the other main focused character and he was more of the stereotypical cold shoulder guy. I was kind of in love with him, his attitude was amusing and annoying but in a good annoying way. I felt Bryn‰ЫЄs annoyance at him more than my own.
Favourite aspects: The world was fabulous and I loved learning all the inner workings of the world. I definitely need to read more fantasy! The descriptions where just incredibly well done the whole way through. I was very impressed!
Themes: Self-acceptance and identity, we really see the struggle that Bryn has being a half blood and how much she pushes herself to work harder than anyone else.
Structure and Audiobook: The chapters where fairly evenly placed giving it a steady pace. We start off with the initial information and we then jump forwards two years and like I said I thought this pulled me in so much! There are fewer flashbacks and more we are told about the information from the past. I liked this lot in the audiobook style and it meant I could easily listen to it while doing other things. The voice of the reader was really fitting for Bryn and she did a very good job at the male voices as well which is something I am still getting used to but I really enjoyed it!

4/5 Stars
*MINOR SPOILERS AHEAD*
This book was actually pretty good. I like Ridley and actually shipped her with Bryn in the beginning of the book. However, when Bryn confronted Konstantin at the hotel, I fell HARD for him. Even though it probably won't happen, I'd be super happy if it did.
