This is another Cowles' gem, some how I swear she just keeps getting better and better! I couldn't put this down and I didn't want it to stop. She is really the queen of romantic suspense.
Shay has been hiding out for years and she is about to get a large change in her life, artist Brody is buying and moving into the house she is a caretaker for. Dinner, games, slow burn, chickens, the water and their small island. This small town is amazing in many ways, the location is perfect and we get some of the old side characters again!
Just wonderful and don't want to spoil anything, so just read it!
5 stars!!
Thank you Social Butterfly PR and the author for my copy in exchange for my honest review.

Shay is working as a caretaker living and working in a secluded island, exactly the way she wants it, she has found a safe place where she can hide from the past that hurt her.
This safe place is disturbed when the island is being sold, she must make sure her job is secured and she is determined to make herself helpful but also invisible.
Brody bought the island because he needs a place away from everyone and everything, he hopes that the beautiful landscape and distance will help battle the painter's block he has and that it will help him recover a cruel episode.
The two of them are living in closed proximity, the island is the perfect location for a romance to start.
They both are hoping to leave painful experiences behind. I loved they way they opened up and helped each other along the way. The pace of the romance seemed natural and not forced at all, there was a great build up with an even greater pay off once they became a couple.
As for all the books in the series the plot is filled with suspense and mystery, which was very well written and kept my interest the whole time I was reading.
I am very excited to read the last book in the series soon.

Shay and Brody all the feelz.
Shay is hiding on the island from her past and the new owner might threaten her hideaway. So she does all she can to make sure that she is invaluable to him. But she need not worry about that because Brody not only needs the hideaway himself but see the same fear in Shay.
Their chemistry is palpable, and they become fast friends that turns into more. They are there for each other.
I really enjoyed it. I will say this whole series being as its a small town makes me wonder how many bad guys are around. I know this one followed her there but it make you wonder. ;)
I loved the narration.

My favorite book to date I think! I loved Brody and Shay so much! The suspense element really kept me on the edge of my seat and watching their story unfold really was the best.
Shay was a character that I really resonated with. She was down to earth and kept to herself, the only way she knew to keep herself safe. She wasn’t sure how working for Brody would be and while they tried to stay professional, the feelings they developed for each other only grew. Brody’s strong protective side for Shay was swoonworthy from the beginning.
I listened to this series and loved everyone. The narrators were perfect for each character and really found a way to complete submerge me into their story. 10/10 recommended and all the stars

Nice broken h, nice H. However, why do all these books just give me so much friendship? Maybe it feels like the romance is so soft that the friendships feel like they are competing for the spotlight. Every time one of the side characters is mentioned I just imagine this

and it just makes me feel like >:[ . I guess I am officially conditioned for problems and not peace.

》Short Review《
This was overall a decent read. I thought it had a really good beginning, with great initial chemistry by the leads, and a heart-stopping ending filled with terrific action. I was at the edge of my seat by the end.
That said, I did have to push myself through the middle. It frankly dragged. The romance also rushed and just sort of plateaued for me. It didn’t quite make the distance for me.
I still appreciate reading a contemporary romance that isn’t dark paired with a high-stakes plot where danger lurks at every corner. I may not have loved this book but I am curious to look into other works by the author. Particularly the book starring Shay’s internet friend. I may give that one a go next!

This was another good addition to the Wrecked series. Like the other books in this series, this book includes a romantic couple with a bit of baggage in their lives and a good portion of suspense at the end of the story. This is the first book in the series that doesn't feature the main family of the previous three books. Shay is a caretaker on a local island who is running away from a horrific past. Her goal is to stay hidden from the world. Brody buys the island, escaping his own crazy past. Together, the two of them find a way to work through their past traumas and forge a new beginning. Unfortunately, their pasts come back to them with a vengeance. All in all, this was a nice audio book to listen to. It pretty much follows the same formula as the first three books of the series, and since I liked those books, I liked this one as well. I do think that there was a missed opportunity by making the villain(s) so evil. Shay hints at some nuance in her brother's behaviors, but for the most part he was plain awful. I think that there was more to explore in this tragically awful experience that would have really raised this story above the crowd when it comes to romantic suspense. As it was, I loved both Brody and Shay and didn't mind sticking around for their journey to a Happily Ever After. The always amazing Sebastian York did a phenomenal job narrating Brody's POV, and Ava Erickson did a wonderful job on Shay's. I'll give it four stars ... although it probably doesn't quite rate that high. But the narration bumped it up a bit. I really liked it.
Two people trapped on a remote island together, what could go wrong?
Apparently a lot.
Brody: New York artist, ties to a serial killer situation
Shay: the island hermit hiding from her past
The timing of this book was weird to me. Like weeks kept just skipping by.
More mystery than romance I felt.
With that being said it’s in the top of the series for me
