Great sequel to the Sisters Solstice.

It was a great journey getting to know Winnie and her pain, why she is the way she is, the relationship between the sisters. It is emotional and spicy.

This gothic witchy read has me ITCHING for book #3.

I really enjoyed the second book. Winnie was very frustrating but an amazing and powerful woman. She is very complicated.
The pacing does frustrate me. I feel like by the time we reach the crux of all Winnie has gone through we don’t have enough time to sit with it and we rush into the romantic partners of the books reuniting.  Still cried a bunch for Winnie though.
I do understand there are 4 sisters we get to explore so I do understand the overall plot taking longer to develop.

The author knew what she was doing with this one, because it’s equal parts satisfying and devastating. It was SO wonderful to see more of Aggie and Grimm, the spookiest couple

Unfortunately I won’t be reading any more of this author’s books due to her ethics or lack thereof

This book suffers from major pacing issues. At about 1/3 of the way through the book, I almost DNF'ed it. Nothing happened until the last quarter of the book. By then, I was so annoyed, the emotional impact was gone.

Major Spoilers Ahead:
Winnie is that annoying oldest sister who has been through unspeakable trauma, so of course that excuses every terrible thing she does to her younger sisters. Told through flashbacks that alternate between timelines, Winnie story doesn't full come out until the end, when I'm already so over her that I don't care.

Agatha and Grimm go through this will-he-wont-he for so long that by the time he does take the draught, I don't care anymore. Then it's more of the distant/dark prince we got from the first book. By the time he comes back around, I don't even care anymore.

I’m so glad we got to know Winnie more and this one was a bit boring in parts but by the last third I was drawn back in!

I continue on, on my month long reading slump. But once I got back into this I couldn’t put it down.

The journey these books are taking me on
