I fell in love with Autumn of the Grimoire, so naturally I jumped at the chance to read Winter of the Wicked.
Winter of the Wicked picks up RIGHT where Autumn left off. I lovedseeing more of Agatha and Grimm.
I was truly shocked by Winnie because she was exactly what I expected her to be like, but by the end she came in with a whole new side that wad such a nice surprise.
J.L. Vampa wrote multiple POV, and different timelines seamlessly and it gave so much insight to different parts of the plot and characters that we really needed, and wanted.
The cliffhanger at the end blindsided me, I was so wrapped into the story that I didn’t even realize it was over and I kept angrily trying to turn the page for more. I need to know what happens next, so I’ll be (im)patiently waiting for the next book.

This series is quickly getting better. I have none of the same complaints as I had with the first book. The characters are developing well and the romance is much more natural. I’m pretty hooked. This mystery is taking FOREVER to unfold though.

Wendolyn Joubert is the oldest of the Sisters Solstice. She is Sister Winter. She is grouchy. She is rigid.
This is Winnie's story. The freaking Ice Queen herself and her history of what she's gone through since becoming a Sister Solstice and her figuring out what to do since the Grimoire incident.
Throughout the entire book you get views from Agatha and Grimm for the continuation of their story and how the stories of all the characters are coming together.
All the things that happened to Winnie until this point, were heart breaking. I have full understanding of why she is the way that she comes off in the stories.
I LOVE GRIMM but Agatha's chapters in this book made me way too sad. Without spoilers, just know that they're slightly hard to read if you're cheering on Agatha and Grimm. Couple that with Winnie and Laurent coming back together and Winnie and Eleanor.. I had all the feels within this book.
I enjoy the most that each book brings a type of closure to each specific story but is a continuation of the overall theme of trying to save the realm for the next book.
I can't wait for Sorscha's book.

The first half or so of this book was far too slow for me. But the end really saved it. I will be pissed if every book seems to end with Grimm being taken. Jesus Christ. I loved seeing more of the sister’s, their past, and the world beyond the castle.
Got sidetracked by life, need to come back to this.
I have this on audible if I want to revisit…but it’s soooo slow and I need to clear this out of my story graph for the moment.
