A whimsical suburban detective delight - if Peregrine Fisher lived in current day Abbotsford, she would have adventures in the vein of Edwina "Ted" Bristol, private investigator.
This adventure begins with her clairvoyant neighbour asking her to investigate her husband for infidelity, and ends with murder, a bit of mayhem and that fleeting will-they-wont-they romance of the genre.

Ted Bristol is a private investigator. She deals with a fair few clients who suspect their partner is being unfaithful and, whilst that pays the bills, Ted wants something more. Whilst trailing one of the spouses, Ted overhears a conversation about millions of dollars being embezzled, and that’s when things start to get interesting.
Elizabeth was a featured author at a @sistersincrimeau event and I loved hearing about her process. I also loved that, in the Bristol family, the women have “male” names and the men have “female” names. Ted’s spunky niece, Chuck, provides a good balance to the older characters and I love her special relationship with Ted.
I really enjoyed the multiple POVs and subplots throughout and the ending was *chefs kiss* Also a special shout out to Miss Marple - I love a good doggo sidekick ♥️
I cannot wait for the next instalment!
