So, I have thoroughly enjoyed Daisy Goodwin's previous two books; however, I did NOT enjoy this one. It was well written and an interesting story, but I felt like it spent the first 2/3 of the book building up Victoria's relationship with one guy just to have some other guy show up for the last 100 pages and suddenly they were getting married. Seemed odd and unsatisfying. I must admit, I didn't know the true story of Victoria and who she married, so I didn't know what to expect (how I prefer to read stories), but now I wish I had known so I wouldn't have been so disappointed by the ending.
Again, this book wasn't horribly written, but I felt like the story line wasn't well-developed and the ending seemed to come out of nowhere.

Intressant och välskrivet. Det märks att författaren även skrivit manus till tv - serien, som ligger mycket nära bokens handling.

This wasn't a particularly fast-paced listen, but I really enjoyed it and now I'm dying to watch the PBS series.
There was more focus on romance than I usually like to read but it didn't diminish a well-told story about the challenges that Victoria as a young queen in a socially constrained, male-dominated world had to overcome while retaining her human feelings.
