Just a nice, comforting compilation of stories from librarians and booksellers about why they love their jobs: reading books, discussing them with patrons/customers, and providing services and a welcoming environment to the public.

I picked this up on a whim from the library and it was such a lovely, heartwarming read about the power of books to change people's lives!! It was really fun to see how booksellers become booksellers, and all of the different backgrounds they can have. It was also great to see some familiar places like the Bookends & Beginnings bookstore in Evanston. I never knew Judy Blume owned and operated a bookstore!! I would recommend this book for booklovers and bibliophiles. It was a tiny bit repetitive sometimes, but I still loved reading about all the different geographical locations and viewpoints.

It was a good book, it was just short stories of real life people so it wasn’t exciting but it was informative. They had people from all over and I think it was a valuable thing for people that don’t understand books/reading. I kind of wish it talked more about banning books but other than that it was good just a bit boring at times. Some of the stories were really similar too so it was kind of repetitive. Had a story of the owner of wind city books in Casper though which was fun!

DNF’d this one. It was good but not what I was in the mood for right now.
