I recently read, and loved, Kerry's first book Everything We Keep and immediately jumped into this one. The first book is from the perspective of Aimee, the women who buries her fiancé on their wedding day. She is heartbroken but tries to carry on with her life, never forgetting the love of her life.
Everything We Left Behind is a continuation of this beautiful but heartbreaking love story, this time told from the perspective of James, the man who was buried all those years ago. I read these two books back to back and loved every minute of them. I was totally drawn into the character's lives and love and devoured both books.
Kerry is a new-to-me author but has now been added to my must-read list. I love these stories! And it looks like Everything We Give is coming in July 2018. Yay!! I am so excited to continue this series.

The sequel to Everything we Keep, follows the story of Aimee and James however written from James’ perspective.
When James Donato comes out of the fugue caused by the trauma he experienced while in Mexico 6 years ago, he believes life is as he left it. He soon discovers that all is not so and he has two young sons that he does not remember and a fiancé that is no longer his.
This story is about James coming to terms with his loss and moving on as father to two young boys while finding happiness and love with Natalya his boys aunt.
I really wanted to enjoy this as much as the first book Everything we Keep but I found it lacking in some parts. The pace of the story was a bit too slow after James came round from his fugue state which I found frustrating and I was expecting more of a big bang ending. Other I was glad to have read the follow up story and see what had happened from James point of view.

I rated the first book higher but I give this book a solid 3.5 rounded up to 4 stars. This book was from James's/Carlos's point of view. There was a lot of back and forth between dates and places, which I think was a little confusing. At the end, it all came together though, and I'll be looking forward to reading the next book.
Skipping back and forth in time seems to appear in too many books these days. Some authors handle it skillfully. Some do not. This book's switches seem forced.

This book comes after Everything we keep. Excellent book. I read it within 24 hours.
Kerry Lonsdale has done it again - another fabulous book. After reading Everything We Keep when it came out, I waited impatiently to find out what happened with James and Aimee. This book was everything I wanted and more. Drama, suspense, family issues...if there had been a dog, it would have been perfection.
Can't wait for the next one!

I was hooked on 'everything we keep' and could not wait for this book to be released...well, now I guess I'll be counting down the days until the next one comes out. I like how this book is all from Carlos/James perspective....you can see how his romantic life is going to end from miles away but still nice. I felt the end was a little rushed, everything was revealed in the last 5% of the book. I also saw something coming so it wasn't a surprised. But still a very enjoyable book.
