3.75* I really liked the book. It was quite hilarious at points. In some instances it was a little scattered which made it difficult to keep up with the timeline. However, it was relatable, easy to read, and had a good flow.
My major reason for the average rating is because of the abrupt ending. I feel like there should have been more and I was left hanging without cause.

I wanted to like this more than I did. Love her show but this book was so-so.

Loved this book! What a great way to start off Women's History Month! I wish she had more! Loved enjoying about Issa and her experiences are so relatable! This is a true laugh out loud book! Must read!

As a fan of Issa I thought it was just okay. I love that she too experienced awkward crazy moments as a child and young adult. It’s a short listen (audiobook) so I can’t really complain.

I was wanting a light read, and this was it. Thanks, Issa Rae, for helping me through this pandemic.
I wanted to like this, but the pedophilia and eating disorder jokes that weren't really jokes kind of soured the book for me. By the end of the book I felt like she wasn't awkward--she was just trying to create a persona of awkwardness instead of going to therapy.
She was good in Barbie though.
