The pacing was much better in this book and I actually enjoyed this book.
The different POVs were still irritating.
Cals whole story could of been emitted and it would have given me the same overall story arc of what happened however.
The ending felt rushed and super unrealistic because King Hansen seemed to want Cal gone gone through out the book but then does a 180 and decides to allow his Queen to have a lover and that his MALE heir is from Cal!?! Whhhhat!??!
Would have rated it higher otherwise.

I did not enjoy this sequel as much as the first book. I feel there were too many politics and economic aspects than magical, fantastical and romantic. And they didn’t get much of a happy ending! Like, wtf!? It’s such a sad and dull conclusion to the epic story that we started with.

I thought the first book in the series was okay, but the plot fell apart in this book. The entire thing felt like a series of suspiciously convenient plot points that were then dropped and never referenced again. The whole book felt rushed, only to climax at an extremely anticlimactic point, and I just felt confused the entire time.
