A historical building often comes with a ghost or two, but the second-hand store is being plagued with paranormal pranks. The owner could live with things being shifted around, but when a valuable item is damaged, it's time to request help from Verity and her partner, the long-dead gangster, Frankie.

Full disclosure, this series is my absolute favourite paranormal mystery series. Even so, I'll still say that this story is brilliant with just the right ratio of sweetness to ghosts. I don't want to say too much for fear of spoiling the ending. I did really love it, though!

It's been a while since I've visited Verity and I've missed her greatly.

A fun short story in Angie Fox's Southern Ghost Hunter Mysteries series! There were some sweet, hopeful elements in addition to the humor.

I was able to read this in a couple hours. Definitely read the first book before this, so you're familiar with the characters and themes!

Half a point deducted for grammatical errors.

A Ghostly Gift is a novella that is part of the Southern Ghost Hunter Mystery series. The premise of the series is that Verity Long cleans up what she thinks is an ugly vase left behind in her home by her ex-fiance. In reality, she dumped out the ashes of a deceased gangster, grounding him to her home but giving Verity the ability to see and communicate with other spirits as long as she is with Frankie. Verity becomes a reluctant ghost hunter in the first book and she continues that unexpected calling in this novella.

As a favor for a friend, Verity agrees to find out who is haunting the young woman's resale shop and try to stop it. Verity is nervous since she feels she doesn't really know what she's doing, but I love the way the story turns out. The rest of Verity's personal life is just as complicated as her ghost-hunting activities, so there are many funny situations throughout the book. I would rate the novella 4.5 stars, and I hope to read more of Verity and Frankie's ghost hunting adventures soon.

Adorable short story addition to the series. It was a little short and 'convenient' for my taste, but still good anyway!

Aww. This story made me smile and hit me with the feels. Not humorous like the first book, but it had it's own special charm. A pleasant and quick read. I can't wait to read the next one
