Great short story. I have not read the previous book, so I was completely new to this series, yet I had no difficulty following the characters and their little adventure. If anything, this short only wet my appetite. I need to read more of Verity and her gift. And I definitely need to know how she ended up with Frankie the friendly, ghostly mobster with an attitude.
The relationship between Frankie and Verity seems to be one of siblings who enjoy needling each other but would do anything for the other. Definitely a series I would be interesting in following

Awww that was sweet.... like the Ghost Whisperer, with the annoying Jennifer Love Hewitt!

This is a cute short story and I liked it very much. I read the first book in the series some time ago and I’m tempted to read on now after getting to this short story.

A nice little filler for the main series. I really liked the idea of spirits from a range of eras meeting night after night in a ghostly pub, to enjoy cards and a good hobnob over a few ghostly beers... and spirits (sorry, irresistible pun) 😁. This would be a great place for our 'southern ghost hunter' to revisit the next time she's looking for the word on the ghost street - and maybe enjoy a bit of hobnobbing herself. Imagine the stories you'd hear in a place like that!

A quick story to fill in the gap between books.
A very quick read, but still good.
None of the big mystery and suspense that is in the full length books of this series. Not much of the comedy we normally get either.
Still recommend if you love the series.
I received this book as a gift.

This was a great novella. The story was heartwarming.
No spoilers, but the ending definitely made me audibly go "awwwww".
