Not as bad as I thought it would be, but definitely missing any parts that made it interesting instead of just... sad.

Like, I'll pray for them. That's the nicest way I can put it.

This reads much like the other books written by the Duggar family. We get a backstory of the family, how faith and their religion helped them and how they want to help others today.

As a follower of the Duggars for years, I knew that Jinger's marriage was a bit contentious in her community and with her family and this, as well as Jim Bob's hoops for men to marry his daughters, is talked about it this. It is talked about very well but is not the "dirt" some may have expected.

Additionally, the private matters that happened within the Duggar family when the children were younger is talked about, briefly, and not expanded on. I respect this decision and really have no notes.

All in all this is a book introducing Jeremy and a bit more about Jinger. Nothing new, exciting, or even truly that compelling. Same find faith with us, because we are different message found in most books like this.

Hearing about their story and how it almost didn’t happen had me in tears, laughing at some parts and smiling

Meh, I was going into as an atheist who has watched all the Duggar tv shows and followed the controversy as well as the new documentary about the religion. I listened to the whole book, it was short. It felt icky, instead of just telling their story every sentence had to mention praying and god and Christ etc. it just solidified the indoctrination of the duggars and the sad fact that it continues in their further generations. I was surprised at Jinger’s decision to wear pants, hopefully that’s the beginning of some normalcy.

The part I found very surprising, was the honeymoon, them being bummed about the earthquake in New Zealand and changing their plans, being missionaries and going to other countries to help communities rebuild etc, I was stunned that they went to LA to continue honeymooning instead of being saviors and helpers and whatever else they call themselves and offering help to the people who has lost everything?

It as a whole definitely felt like they just wanted to spread their word and beliefs and convert people, there are enough of you. I’m good.

I really enjoyed this! I honestly wasn’t expecting to enjoy it as much as I did. If you’re hesitating to read it because you don’t want to read a book that’s purely focused on religion, there’s not too much to worry about. Yes, there is a lot of discussion about the Vuolo’s and Duggar’s faith, but you can easily skip over it (as I did) and it won’t take away from the description of their lives. I really feel like after reading this I have a much truer concept of who Jinger and Jeremy are as people, and it was really nice to look behind the curtain of social media and reality television to get to see them for themselves. They were so open and honest about their struggles and even their thought process. I just really enjoyed it

I needed to read this as soon as I was done with Jinger’s new book. She has always been one of my favorite Dugger’s. I loved hearing more about their childhood and relationship. I only really new what was shown on the TV show and I loved hear morning about their struggles and how they came together and fought for each other.

Interesting to learn how Jinger and Jeremy got together. I appreciate their focus to keep the focus in their relationship on God. Jeremy didn't give up what he felt God was calling him to, and I think it has been blessed.
