I love Sorin enough said there. Loved the new secondary characters in this book. Plot is very exciting (confusing at times but that’s the suspense of it all). I’m looking forward to book 3 but am praying to every god that Scarlet does not get herself killed because she’s as stubborn as a bull.

Whenever the author isn't blatantly plagerizing SJM and other popular authors, she writes soul crushingly dragged out repeatitive exposition.
This was all present in the first book, but is nearly unbearable in the 2nd.
I'd still be tempted to read it if the books were about 300 pages less and would just get to the point already.

A solid continuation with more depth to the romance and the world. The pacing kept me hooked, and I really enjoyed seeing the FMC’s character develop further.

This is the second book in a series and it really feels like it. It was very slow and although the characters made progress it was like watching a toddler wade through a mud pit. Not all that enjoyable, really messy, and you're kinda worried they're just going to drown at any second.
The plot was okay-ish, not massively plot focused but enough to kinda hold my attention.

Extremely reminiscent of ACTAR; she didn't notice Sorin was her twin flame, when she does they go to a secluded cabin in the mountains and she plans to infiltrate enemy territory by acting as if she has tired sides. Literally the same base plot.
Other than that, great plot twist after plot twist though I had to control my anxiety when I couldn't understand what was really going on because if lack of information.
