This book was so fun! I love the idea of a cursed film. It's such an interesting concept. I liked the mixed media portions of this book. I thought it was really engaging throughout. This is a really quick and easy read. It was definitely a perfect book for October. I think this would make a fun movie. I enjoyed the ending as well.

Decades ago, Laura Warren was known as child actor named Polly who starred in The Guesthouse, a horror movie where majority of the cast and crew were killed by someone called the Needle Man Now, she's back as a journalist to write about the horror reboot, but as the body count rises again, it seems like the Needle Man never left to begin with, and now Laura has to confront the secrets of her past.
Okay so this premise sounded amazing, and I was SO excited because the book gave me all the Scream slasher vibes with a bit of supernatural linked into it. It started off so strong, and I loved slowly learning about Laura's past, but then I found myself losing interest in the plot as the novel dragged on. The stakes were very high, but I felt that it wasn't as scary as I wanted it to be. Definitely creepy though.
This book does touch on childhood stardom and the weight of carrying that into adulthood and the secrets that we hold on for a long time, and I found that aspect to be very well incorporated. The twists were decent, and the ending was a little confusing...but overall, it's a solid and freaky read for horror lovers.
