Adored this even more reading it the second time. Immeasurable, unbeatable. Susanna Clarke forever.
I don’t care about Faerie, and apparently this book is about that. Seems like a really good book, just not for me.
What is this? So boring! The characters' names are all different but so English, souless, and grey that they are easily confused. Likewise, all characters (male cast) are more or less the same person which doesn't help at all. There's no more magic in England and I doubt there's any to be found in this book unless you imagine it yourself.

What a singular thing. I love to see this novel as an alternate founding of fantasy as a genre right next to Tolkien. Also: as much as I hate when someone says something like that: if you don't like the beginning, power through the first 150 pages or so. For me it was absolutely worth it.
