Interesting story

I enjoyed the story very much though it could get wordy at times. But it was definitely a unique idea. Her characters were well developed and very real (meaning they weren't good or bad, just human). The choices they made were hard ones especially when you are dealing with the idea that they had more power available to them than the average person does. Good book.

There is everything to love about this book. The characters are intricate and lively, the language is beautiful, and the story keeps you locked in, understandable but unpredictable.

I wish to have liked it more, due to the premise and due to the fact that I’ve gotten is as a very thoughtful gift.
However, what the hell with the footnotes? And the sick amount of it?
I think this story would have made sense if it was wrapped in a ~300 pages book. I have a hard time following the general story of the book, due to time jumps, the characters fell flat, the multiple story lines didn’t really have a resolution. Let it be known that I tried, and finished.
