A good read that falls somewhat short of its predecessors.

SpoilerI thought of this book, and I'm assuming the next two books will be the same, as a companion novel to the first two books. I’d suggest reading this series as a duology, but then continuing if you love the characters. There are some loose ends in the first two books that this one explores, but overall, those details could be been added to the end of the second book.

Let’s be clear - this is not the continuation of Gwen’s story. It’s a whole heap of unrelated, sometimes unbelievable, conspiracy that has absolutely nothing to do with Gwen other than the author decided to cash in on the success of the previous two books by reusing the characters. But it’s still a fast paced, action packed, hard to put down read, which has laid the groundwork nicely for four book - a book that’s definitely on my “want to read” list.

I skipped this book by accident when I received an arc for Bitter Falls.
I love the Gwen Proctor books. Wolfhunter River was a lot better than Bitter Falls, but man, the ending was a mess and I don't feel like the plots were put together very well. I mean they're was an epilogue with exposition.
I still rounded up because I really lost myself in this book until the last 30 pages.

Great read!

As i slowly work my way through this still house lake series, i find myself wanting to keep reading just to see whats about to happen next! I definitely didnt see the ending of this as good as it was tho. This series has definitely kept me guessing! And everytime...jus turns a different direction. Onto book #4!
adventurous dark emotional mysterious tense fast-paced

The Stillhouse Lake action continues in this third installment of the series. This time not only are Gwen and those she loves facing threats thanks to her ex-husband's murderous exploits, but now someone has reached out to Gwen for help and there's more trouble to be found in Wolfhunter River.

I was curious to see where Gwen would end up in this book since Killman Creek wrapped up so nicely, but it looks like Gwen is taking all she's learned from the battles with Melvin and the chaos that ensued, to focus her skills on helping others.

I think this book provides a nice segue from where Gwen's been to where she's headed next. With lots of action, some twists you don't see coming, and an unlikely romance; there's lots to love about Wolfhunter River and I am excited to read the fourth book, Bitter Falls.

RIP to an amazing author I am sad to have gotten to know only after her untimely passing.

Another great one in the Stillhouse Lake series!! I love how these books never get boring or feel like they’re running out of momentum. Can’t wait to read the rest.

Another intense and disturbing read following the life of Gwen and her kids, as well as her partner Sam.
A phone call from a strange woman who claims to need her help leaves Gwen feeling unsettled and unsure of what to do about it. Not to mention the ambush that happens when Gwen tries to tell her side of the story. Life has gone from tenuously optimistic to death threats, camera crews and increasingly difficult to endure. Sam is realising that his two worlds are colliding not matter how much he wishes they weren't, and he realises he may loose the family he thinks of as his own.
After another strange phone call they decide to set of as a family to investigate and take a break from Stillwater and it's undesirables. Though nothing is what it seems in Wolfhunter River and they may just have been a lot safer of they had stayed at home! Not to be missed adrenaline inducing fast paced race against the walls of the town and it's secrets that are slowly closing in around them. Five incredible stars!

4 books in and I’m still hoping Sam and Gwen figure out their issues
