Not as good as the first two but I still really enjoyed this book. It may be that I’m just burnt out on these characters reading two books of the series back to back is all.

Ugh I am totally struggling with my rating of this book. The stillhouse lake series has kept me so hooked and this book really did too. I felt like every chapter ended on a cliff hanger which kept me up after my bedtime to finish
Great read!
As i slowly work my way through this still house lake series, i find myself wanting to keep reading just to see whats about to happen next! I definitely didnt see the ending of this as good as it was tho. This series has definitely kept me guessing! And everytime...jus turns a different direction. Onto book #4!

Still going strong
While not as good as the first two in my opinion, I was very interested in how this third book would play out after the finale of the last installment. Caine has definitely set up the driving force for a fourth story so I'm excited to move on.

Spoiler
I thought of this book, and I'm assuming the next two books will be the same, as a companion novel to the first two books. I’d suggest reading this series as a duology, but then continuing if you love the characters. There are some loose ends in the first two books that this one explores, but overall, those details could be been added to the end of the second book.

Rachel Caine keeps surprising me! READ THIS SERIES!

Synopsis: Gwen is still trying to find what normal means to her. After all, her ex-husband turned out to be a serial killer. 🔪The media isn’t making it easy on her and her kids, so she’s constantly vigilant. But she can’t also ignore a cry for help. Marlene is terrified; something sinister is going on in her town of Wolfhunter. When Gwen shows up, Marlene is dead. And Gwen learns that girls are disappearing left and right with no explanation. Before she knows it, Gwen and her family are wrapped up in this mess. More murders happen and it looks like a corrupt police force might be brushing them under the rug!
You guys! This book was so good. I just love how Rachel Caine can continue the storyline without it feeling forced. This book, in particular, has multiple plot lines, all of which help blend the storylines from the previous two books into this one. There is an added drama - the “documentary” - which allows for deeper character development to occur between Sam and Gwen. You really get to see how tethered they are to one another.

As for the actual “case” in Wolfhunter, it is sinister and shady! It reminds me of a Dateline episode. Young girls vanishing without a trace and the community is too afraid to tell the police they aren’t doing enough! You don't know who to trust - everyone seems "at fault".
There are a few valleys where specific plotlines are ignored for what seems like a long period of time and so that’s why I docked a star. Otherwise - GET ON THIS!
Thank you to NetGalley and Amazon Publishing for my ARC in exchange for this review!

Though not upto the level of its previous book 'KILLMAN CREEK', Yet this book is quite a good read and doesn't make you bored. It's just that you will find it a bit less detailed compared to Killman Creek (which made you almost experience the ordeals faced by Gwen).Wolfhunter River is good in building up mystery though.
Gwen is a strong fierce mother. I continue to want to know more about her story and her family.
