Wolfhunter River by Rachel Caine is the third book in the Stillhouse Lake Series. I really enjoyed this book with the twist of Gwen trying to help someone else that is in trouble. I really enjoyed the fact that the book gave multiple points of views from Gwen, Sam, Lanny, and Connor.
I couldn't put the book down. I would highly recommend this series to anyone that likes suspense thrillers.
I cannot wait for book four Bitter Falls to be released In January 2020. I already preordered it.

A nice evolution to the original story
Wolfhunter River by Rachel Caine is the third book in a series about life after you and the world discover your husband is a serial killer. Gwen Proctor and her kids have been trying to make a new life and Tenn seems to be their place. I really liked how she is starting to turn this tragedy in to a new life for herself. She is giving advice to other families, and figuring out how to move beyond the grief and horror. This installment was good, not because of the mystery which was obvious from the beginning but because of the evolution of the characters. I'm invested in another book just to see how successful she is at having a life after all the death.

Although this was a perfectly good thriller, this marked the point where the series moved away from Gwen and her family as the survivors. She is now helping on another case becoming an investigator. There were twists but I was never invested enough in this other case to care. The first two books were just far more original and unique. I loved the idea of the internet, the town, and society at large being the Big Bad all being manipulated by her serial killer husband. Will I continue reading this series? Yes. Rachel Caine was an excellent writer and I want to continue supporting her family and team any way I can...3.5 stars
I saw someone else describe this book as an in-between book that bridged the pre-Melvin and post-Melvin story lines and that is an excellent way to describe this book. A lot is set up for future books and settles dangling plot points from previous books so this kind of felt like filler. Not to say I didn't have a great time reading this, because I did, and this is a really great and gritty mystery series. This book is simply the weakest in the series so far. The plot is a little confusing at points and I felt like all the relevant action that we've grown to love with this series all came towards the end of the book.
