This book is soo good I’m really impressed with Ms.Caine ❤️
This series is so well written! Wolfhunter River is the THIRD in the series. I recommend reading, but please read them in order...starting with Stillhouse Lake and then Killman Creek. If you are not afraid of true psychological and twisted storylines, this series is for you! Kudos to the author for writing her characters so well - I think I have a little crush on Mr. Sam Cade!
Damn I loved the first two books. Obviously I had to suspend my disbelief a bit with the first and second in the series. This one though? Lawd. This is so jumpy and far-fetched I felt like I got car sickness. It's a real shame.
I was obsessed with the Stillhouse Lake series after I read the first two book in the series (Stillhouse Lake and Killman Creek); this book, though interesting, lacked the pacing of the first two. I didn't find myself OBSESSED.
Rachel Caine keeps surprising me! READ THIS SERIES!

Synopsis: Gwen is still trying to find what normal means to her. After all, her ex-husband turned out to be a serial killer. 🔪The media isn’t making it easy on her and her kids, so she’s constantly vigilant. But she can’t also ignore a cry for help. Marlene is terrified; something sinister is going on in her town of Wolfhunter. When Gwen shows up, Marlene is dead. And Gwen learns that girls are disappearing left and right with no explanation. Before she knows it, Gwen and her family are wrapped up in this mess. More murders happen and it looks like a corrupt police force might be brushing them under the rug!
You guys! This book was so good. I just love how Rachel Caine can continue the storyline without it feeling forced. This book, in particular, has multiple plot lines, all of which help blend the storylines from the previous two books into this one. There is an added drama - the “documentary” - which allows for deeper character development to occur between Sam and Gwen. You really get to see how tethered they are to one another.

As for the actual “case” in Wolfhunter, it is sinister and shady! It reminds me of a Dateline episode. Young girls vanishing without a trace and the community is too afraid to tell the police they aren’t doing enough! You don't know who to trust - everyone seems "at fault".
There are a few valleys where specific plotlines are ignored for what seems like a long period of time and so that’s why I docked a star. Otherwise - GET ON THIS!
Thank you to NetGalley and Amazon Publishing for my ARC in exchange for this review!

Omg!!! A nail-biting continuation of Gwen's story and we get the long awaited reveal of Sam's past which was exciting but lacked the wow factor that I was hoping for. I liked the new characters and loved the development of our beloved characters. Lanny and Conner are becoming more matured with each installment and I'm happy that Gwen and Sam are trying to work things out between themselves which is the direction that I'm happy the story is taking rather than insta-love which would have been a huge disappointment.
The portrayal of Gwen as tough but not invincible made her join my favourite characters of all time list along with Erika Foster (Erika Foster Crime Series by Robert Bryndza).
The action scenes were well thought out and not cheesy which was a bonus. The slow revelation of the mystery kept me engaged in the plot till the end.
Hope we get to see more of Gwen, Sam and the Kids in the near future.

This was a good mystery/thriller series and I really enjoyed all three books.
