I didn't enjoy this one as much as the other 2, but it was still a very good read!

There’s a lot going on here. Murder. Kidnapping. Documentaries. Cults. Teenagers.

Kept me well entertained on a long flight when I couldn't sleep.

The Stillhouse Lake series continues in Wolfhunter River. Written by Rachel Caine, this is the third novel in the series. Yes, I know that I am very behind on the series. That is a huge regret of mine, though I can honestly say that I recently sat down and read the whole series.

Gwen Proctor escaped her ex-husband – a serial killer that should have stayed behind bars. More than that, she recently killed him. So, in theory, her life should be getting back on track from here on out.

That is not the case. There are those that would still happily see her behind bars (or worse), and there are still those out there in need of help. Such as the woman that calls Gwen, desperate for some insight. Only to wind up dead a few days later. That's the sort of thing that Gwen will never be able to overlook.

“It's been all over the news for months now. Escaped serial killer abducts ex! Shootout in murder house! It's always written for maximum ghoulish effect”

I'll confess that I had sort of put off reading Wolfhunter River. In my mind, the ending for Killman Creek just felt like such a perfect ending to the series. I just wasn't sure where it was going to go next. I regret that I took so long to pick the series back up, because it was absolutely worth diving back into.

Wolfhunter River perfectly showcases how far from over Gwen's story is. She will always be a survivor, always a fighter. There will always be those that want to harm her and her family, and likewise, she will always be up for protecting what she loves.

I actually adore the idea of Gwen getting pulled into other cases from here on out (side note: I've already gone ahead and read the rest of the series, so I do know where this is going to lead). It actually makes a lot of sense for her character. She is a fighter, as I just mentioned.

This novel was chilling and thrilling, in all the best of ways. I love how fast-paced it was, and how everything connected. I honestly think that this might be my favorite novel in the entire series, which is probably saying something (I really did love Stillhouse Lake).

Getting caught up on the Stillhouse Lake series has been a bittersweet process for me. It's hard knowing that there won't be any more books for this series. It breaks my heart, and I know that I, along with all of her fans, will forever miss Rachel Caine.

Struggled through this one, the first two thirds of the book were slow and not much happened. The final third was messy and hectic.  I'll be taking a break from this series but will possibly come back to it to read the final two books.

I love, love, love this series! Keeps you interested the whole time and would have read quicker had I been feeling better!
