Why can I not give this book more than 5 stars?! This was another in the series that I could not put down. I read until 2am (which I don’t normally do). There was so much suspense and so many levels to the mystery, it was like the commercials “But wait! There’s more!!” I absolutely love Rachel Caine and her writing style. Her books are so easy to read and her storylines are creative enough to keep a reader enthralled. This series is a must read!!

I’ve really enjoyed this series. Gwen can’t seem to escape her past and in this book we learn even more. She receives a phone call from a woman asking for help. Gwen is not willing to leave her home because the whole thing sounds sketchy and she has enough problems on her hands. However a second call comes and changes everything.
This book was a little slow at the beginning but got better. There were also some good twists. I really enjoyed winning this book in Goodreads Giveaway.

I have given this book 3 stars, quite frankly cause I have no idea what to think of it.
I, personally, am a huge fan of the author! I have read all her books, and always buy them without even needing to read what they are going to be about; however, this time I have to admit I was rather disappointed. I was under the impression it would be a continuation of the story unravelled by the previous books in the story, and on this front, I was highly disappointed. There is a couple of info regarding the storyline we all know, but in reality, it is a book that is completely separate; making me wonder why it is part of this series?
On the other hand, I wouldn't have minded about it, if the book didn't spend most of its time recapping events from previous books, making me hope that eventually, something extraordinary would happen, which never did.
Past that, and as a separate story, it follows the style of the author and it is as thrilling as one expects!
Overall, I would recommend this book, but caution the buyer that it is a rather separate story.

I love this series so much. No frills, just classic thrills.
Yes. I have emerged from the river. You know the drill by now. It’s good. It’s very good. Fast paced, no time to be bored, several POV, none of them boring or annoying. Though I still prefer Gwen’s view.
There’s a new problem, new threat, new issues.
Gwen takes them all on head first, like a boss.
I’m so hooked to this series, it’s a problem. Now I have to go on the number four. And then I have to wait for an eternity and then some to finally read the fifth and I believe final book in this series.
Did I mention I have ZERO patience? I hate waiting for ‘next books’ in series. Which is why I prefer to read them once the entire series is out. I don’t do waiting for the next one. Fight me. Yet, here I am. Sigh.
What am I going to do once I finish number four? My unread books on the e-reader keep judging me. I might have to face those then. I think they hate me because I tore through these books first, even buying those while they just sadly and accusingly threw ‘status: unread’ in my face. The basterds.
Well, I’ve still got one more to go. One very bittersweet fall in this wonderful series before I have to start the waiting game I hate so much. But let’s just take a deep breath and dive into the next one.
Thanks for reading!

Ever get that feeling when you're reading a book that you just feel really bad for the characters? I'm not sure there's much more that Rachel Caine can put Gwen Proctor and her family through (I feel like I'm throwing down a challenge here, but really, how much more can these people survive?!). This is the kind of story you race through because you can't imagine how it's possibly going to end up ok in the end.

Thank You Net Galley for the chance to review Wolfhunter River by Rachel Caine, the 3rd in the Stillhouse Lake series.
This series has been a revelation coz we humans have a tendency to focus on the vile, so much that we forget the shadows of the monsters. Gwen Proctor, aka Gina Royal is the ex-wife to Melvin Royal the serial killer who has such long hands that he manages to terrorize his family even from the grave. Rachel Caine is an author who is on the pulse of the social media storm that seems to be the judge all and be all for every single thing out there be it true or false. The amount of fake news being spread, its horrendous and difficult to fathom for people who are actually being targeted in every form that the whole world mirrors a battlefield.
Gwen has fought her war and has managed to move on but there are still those that do not believe in her innocence and one of them a mother whoz lost her daughter to Melvin is out to destroy everything that she holds dear. The action shifts to another small town called Wolfhunter where even the air seems filled with darkness.
I loved how the author has managed to instill the terror and the paranoia not knowing whom to trust and how Sam, Lanny and Connor all pitch in, every way possible to win the war. Awesome work again! I had half a mind to let Gwen be, but after reading this superb thriller wouldn't mind reading more of the family adventures.
