This is a great feminist comic, inspired by manga and laying bare a terrific and terrifically terrifying world. Highly recommend!

I thought I was downloading V 1 and not B1 so this took me much longer to get through than I expected. The story I give 3.5/ and the art 6/5 so I just went with 4 on the Goodreads score.
Wow wow wow. The art in this book is stunning and really what kept me reading over the months. I did like the story but feel like some more background could have helped. There are also several characters who look similar or have changing figures so I had to stop a few times to try and figure out what was happening. Even though I swore I wasn't going to read more, I may keep up with this series since I'm so close to being current with it.

I don’t read a lot of graphic novels but this one was really good. Stunning illustrations and I really enjoyed the story. It does get pretty dark and I was glad when I was done with this collection because I definitely wanted a break from it afterwards. If it hadn’t been for a readathon, I probably would’ve taken more time with it.
This probably deserves five stars, but I didn't like the story or the way it was told. It's a personal preference thing. If you like angst-filled fantasy, then this will be a five-star read for you.
To be clear, the writing is excellent, just not my genre. The worldbuilding of a unique world is especially well done.
The art is gorgeous. Realistic steampunk art deco with Lovecraftian cosmic horrors and anthropomorphic animals thrown in. Sana Takeda is as good at drawing faces as Fiona Staples.
