Prima lettura dell’anno e menomale che non mi ha delusa!
Ho iniziato questo libro a novembre ma siccome mi stava annoiando tantissimo l’ho abbandonato per un po’, però superato il 30% diventa veramente bello.
L’ho preferito al primo nonostante questo si concentri più sul rapporto tra Ira ed Emilia perché trovo che la loro relazione sia la cosa migliore di questa trilogia: lei è insopportabile, immatura, stupida e fa cose ASSURDE, dice sempre che tutti la temeranno e si vendicherà e blabla ma poi alla fine dei conti non fa mai un cazzo, è proprio una protagonista inutile; lui lo amo, continua a comportarsi da stronzo con tutti tranne che con lei e l’autrice menomale non l’ha reso “umano” come fanno tutti gli altri quando il protagonista è un non-umano. La chimica tra Ira ed Emilia è l’unica cosa che mi fa continuare la lettura di questi libri perché, diciamocelo, tutto il resto è puro trash.
Mi piace come è descritto l’inferno, però il resto è stato messo un po’ a caso. Una spiegazione sensata per la magia delle streghe e per la loro storia? Inesistente, Emilia non si può nemmeno considerare una strega visto che fa solo un incantesimo per tutto il libro. Girl, avessi avuto i poteri li avrei usati sempre. Vorrei che l’autrice si focalizzasse di più su questo aspetto perché io adoro la magia ed è un peccato che venga trattata così male quando dovrebbe essere uno dei punti più importanti della storia.
Una cosa che ODIO è il non spiegare mai niente e poi buttare tutte le informazioni nelle ultime 10 pagine del libro. Secondo me sarebbe stato meglio spargere queste informazioni piuttosto che far venire mal di testa e confusione per capire che cappero stesse succedendo.
Prendessi seriamente questa trilogia mi farebbe schifo perché è scritta male, ma io sono qui solo per la storia d’amore tra Ira ed Emilia e per le loro scene

4 stars ⭐️reread bc i totally forgot wtf happened and i’m glad i did bc that shit did kinda slap and now i can finally read the third book hehe i do enjoy their banter
the Plot itself is great and i do not feel like I have read it a hundred times already. However, I cannot give this book more than 2.5 stars, simply because Emilia is super unlikeable to me.
a) she constantly complains about the marriage bond, without ever mentioning that she summoned him and forced the bond on him
b) she wants him to give her time to open up, but strikes a deal with the Crone to discover his truth without him being ready to tell her and then has the audacity to be mad at him for not telling him
c) she wants him to view her as equal and tell her the truth, but she lies to him and drugs him so she can sneak out of the bedchamber
all in all I was really annoyed because Emilia is such a hypocrit. the first couple chapters had plot and the last couple chapters contained plot. Between these to is a lot of complaining by Emilia (she really doesn’t have to say a single positive thing about anything) and mysterious actions by Wrath, that are quite difficult to understand (not that much of a problem, considering we are not reading from his Pov) I do plan on reading the next book, bc the plot is intrigueing but I truly hope it will not repeat itself as much as Kingdom of the cursed did

This series quickly became my Roman Empire. I knew from the first book that I was going to fall in love, I knew by this book one of the pivotal points for the NEXT book. I did not hate that I figured it out, either. Because the writing was so exquisitely done, and the story was so captivating. I adored this, from beginning to end.
