Really couldn't shake a feeling of boredom as I read this until the last few chapters.
It wasn't a bad book per se - I've read much worse (looking at you, Gild). Emilia goes from big brain moments to having the emotional intelligence of a frozen pea, the princes are a tad lackluster, and the amount of cockblocking is WILD
Wrath still bbygirl though x

This was exponentially hornier than the first book LOL
The entirety of this sequel follows Emilia's stay in hell, as well as her subsequent struggles with the temptations of the deadly sins. Honestly, things only really picked up in the last 100 pages of the book, and by then, I couldn't put it down. The rest of the book was just Emilia (and us) not getting much progress done to solve the mystery of Vittoria's murder. That, and Emilia trying to control her sexual urges. I did like that the book touched on Emilia eventually embracing her sexuality, especially when a woman reclaiming her sexuality (and sex in general) is still something of a taboo in certain circles and cultures.

As these are plotdriven books, they keep me turning pages to see what comes next. But I miss the deep character bonds you get with character driven books.
Okay so this is an actual 4/5. I was pretty intrigued by the world and the concepts. Is it the most amazing ever? No. Did I enjoy it. Yes.

This is getting interesting, although there were several disappointing factors. I needed this book to help me connect and become vested in Emilia’s mission. Was disappointed with Sins, they fell short of my expectations. I hope the next book brings them into play more. A bit predictable and rushed ending. Too easy how everything fell into place too soon. Good series, for me Wrath was my favorite character.

seductive, steamy and riveting, this book was everything. an easy 4.5 star read. top tier romantasy, from the gowns to the balls, the tension to the mystery and deciphering. kingdom of the cursed lets you in on the many secrets and luxuries of the terribly beautiful underworld.
emilia showed some great development in this book and i can’t wait for her villain arc after finding out the truth about her sister. wrath
