Erre a kis tüneményre egészen véletlenül bukkantam rá képregénykeresgélés közben. Végül is tényleg csak képek vannak benne, mert hát ez gyerekeknek mesekönyv. Kifejezetten jó kreatív feladatnak tartom akár a szülőnek is, hogy nincs megírt szöveg, illetve a gyermekkel is szerintem jó plusz, ha neki kell megfogalmaznia, hogy mi történik éppen a képsorokon.

A történet nagyon kis egyszerű, karácsonyi hangulat meghozásához is ideális. Egy kisfiú épít egy hóembert, ami éjfélkor életre kel (az idő múlásához le kell tudni olvasni az időt analóg óráról, de ha még nem tudja magától a gyermek, a szülő nyilván tud segíteni.) A kisfiú körbemutogatja neki a házat

, cserébe végül a hóember is elrepíti a város mellé megnézni a napfelkeltét. A vége kicsit szomorkás, de annyira szép. És egyben olyan végtelenül egyszerű és logikus is. Állítólag az angoloknál nagy klasszikus ez a mesekönyv.

This wordless picture book about a snowman coming to life was a very quick read even though I lingered over some of the art.
I'm probably not the right audience for this as an adult who has never built a snowman, but this failed to move me and just felt simplistic and anti-climatic.

I love snowmen. It is the only thing about winter that I like. So, how is it that this picture book that tells such a fantastic story of adventure & friendship without a single word has escaped my notice? Don’t let it escape from you! This is the 40th year of its publication and now is the perfect time to add it to your winter traditions.

As the back of the book says, "A wordless wonder." So cute and touching. Kids can stop and contemplate what would happen if you let a snowman inside the house. Wouldn't he melt if you put him by the fire? Wouldn't he fall apart if he slipped off a skateboard?
