Another charming and well-crafted Ms. Marvel. Kamala Kahn's personality is as much bubbly but fraught teenager as ever, and she and her whole universe is delightfully quirky and appealing. This volume seems to be a bit more blunt with the messages than usual, the first story being an appeal to vote, the second being a lesson in online privacy and bullying. But while I would have loved for them to be a bit more subtle, I really don't mind it much.

I guess my biggest gripe with this issue is that the villains facing Ms. Marvel are relatively uninteresting. Hydra makes a half-hearted attempt at taking over Jersey City in the first, short story, mostly serving as a clear opponent for people to rally against, while the villain of the second story ends up being less interesting than they could have been, in my opinion.

Never the less, if you have liked previous instalments of Ms. Marvel, odds are you'll like this one. If you haven't read any Ms. Marvel... I guess this isn't the worst place to begin, but it's not the best either.

I love this character, this is, in my opinion, one the best ongoing series out there. I also love that there is diversity in many aspects of the book, it's not just racial diversity, it also has body diversity! The scene where everyone was hugging was beautiful!

This hurts me to say, but this installment was such a letdown, especially after Civil War II. I did not appreciate the preachy tone either.

The number felt like a filler, the only arc movement war related with Bruno. Kamala had a "normal super hero story". Not bad, this time she made the right decision before screwing all up.

While this wasn't one of my favorite Ms. Marvel volumes, there was a lot that I did still absolutely love!

First let's start with what I didn't: that some of the resolutions seemed too easily solved. The political story for instance. It happened overnight and Kamala still got the outcome she was hoping for. It felt very unrealistic.

However, the progression of Kamala's story with her family, friends, and especially Bruno was so realistic and wonderful and at times heartbreaking. Kamala isn't just a superhero she's a young woman dealing with a lot of problems and this volume really illustrated that.

The part that I really loved? Getting to see some of Bruno's new life in Wakanda! Now that part of the story was awesome! And it made me realize how much I missed Bruno. Plus, we got a preview of Wakanda and what's happening there before the new Black Panther movie.

Can't wait to see more of Kamala's story!

If I said any of the previous volumes were my favorite, I stand corrected. There were quite a few important topics brought up in this volume. Kamala learns a lot about who she is and what message she will be sending to the world. I love how she connects with the people of her city to solve problems in ways that seem more unconventional for the average superhero. It’s so refreshing! I would highly recommend to anyone interested in hero comics.

They had to misstep eventually I guess. Didactic instead of earnest, but I'll stick around.
