Excelente. Un libro muy interesante sobre como se escribe y enseña la historia, de como un tema tan entretenido logra enseñarse de manera tan aburrida.

This book horrified me, but I liked it. I already knew that I need to be involved in my son's education, but this made me so much more aware of how our school system is often lacking. (I also learned a lot of new things!)

Redundant but worthwhile. Would like to see a fresh look at this topic in our current social and political climate.
I really liked this history nonfiction. Answers lots of questions I’ve always wondered and asks some others—like why our history textbooks are the incorrect way they are, and what made them that way.
Took a long time but now through it - the last two pages of the last chapter were my favorite.
I read this before going into High School U.S. History. It made me itch for a fight. Unfortunatley Mrs. Peterson was an amazing teacher and well aware of the limitations of our history text book. I never got to show off, but I suppose the class was better for it.
If you are involved in education or find yourself wondering where these gaps in your social studies came from you need to read this immediately. A friend of mine who is a history teacher recommended this to me and it had such an impact. About 2/3 of the book breaks down a lot of discrepancies throughout the average US history curriculum and the last 1/3 really pulls apart teaching philosophy, access to knowledge, and even the publishing system that contributes so heavily to this issue. That is what really stuck with me the most and even as a non history teacher shines light on how we’re all part of a rigged education system. Can’t recommend enough. If you had read this I’d love to talk to you about it.
