There were things I really liked about the book, and other times it dragged on. I almost stopped by 15% due to the writing style. I really enjoyed the parrot character. It was so quirky to have this parrot throughout. It did make me want to go back and visit Florence again.

So boring. Too many characters with no real direction. Listening to the audio and the reader is so monotonous it’s putting me to sleep. I cannot understand how this book has so many five star reviews. It’s an insanely dull post WWII read.

.... I'm struggling with how to rate this. If my rating was based directly on ease of reading due to lack of quotation marks, I'd give it 1 star. If it's based on the last chunk of pages that ruined my tidy, happy ending, also 1 star. If I base it on the 400 other pages that stole my heart, 5 stars. .....
