It was like reading poetry, but covered in a comfortable layer of characters that feel like real humans and a story that warms your heart. I would advice everyone to book a trip to Florence and start reading right now.

Quite simply the very best book I’ve read for a very long time. Beautiful characters beautiful place. The book is a painting!
Incidentally I didn’t even notice the lack of punctuation marks until I read a few reviews pointing out that there weren’t any! …can’t say I needed them.
Oh and I loved the surrealism of the parrot and the trees…
