3.77 AVERAGE

This was very entertaining. Barclay delivers another fast-paced mystery. Onward to his next novels.

*** 2,75 stars ***

There's something comforting about Linwood Barclay's formulaic thrillers, like a cosy blanket on a cold night - you know what you're getting into, there's gonna be twists and turns and bad guys (and gals!) you don't see coming and that doesn't have to be a bad thing. I think Too Close To Home is totally deserving of 5 stars because it kept me second guessing myself and falling into the trap of being too comfortable and then bam! I'm on the edge of a bridge wondering who jumped or was pushed or fell or flew and it's just really entertaining reading.

Not my favorite Barclay bokk but still quite good and I recommend it. His writing definitely improved with time but this was enjoyable. I definitely was suspicious of
Drew
the second they showed up

I really enjoy Barclay's stories--they are fast-paced and surprising. This story is about the Cutter family, whose son witnesses a brutal murder of his neighbour's entire family. When cirumstances reveal a disturbing connection within the Cutters' employers, what seems to be innocent, is not.

Knew who the killer was after reading 70%. But still liked how things unfolded. And since it was published in 2008, and I’ve read better plot than this on latest books, I would say this was a good one.

What a great book!
The Langleys are going on vacation for a week so their neighbor Derek Cutter, who is their son`s Adam best friend decides to hide in the house so he can have a 'Love nest' with his girlfriend. Unfortunately, Mrs. Langley is not feeling well and they come back a few hours later. Derek, afraid to be founf out, decides to hide until the coast is clear. Too bad for him, someone knoks on the door and kills the Langleys. Who wants them dead and why are the Cutters involved in this?

The suspense was right on. The story was moving at the right pace. A page turner!

A very quick paced booked. I figured out the killer and his motives about 100 pages before the end
