A damn fine entry in the Serge Storms Saga. Top 5 easily. This was very close to scoring a 5 star rating but I wasn't all in on the plot device used in the second act. It all tied up nice in the end. Not much more to say about a legendary anti-hero crime series that hasn't already been said.

Read Tim Dorsey at all costs and in any order.

2.5 - not the strongest in the series but the ending was pretty good

This book was loads of fun as an audiobook (narrated by Oliver Wyman). It is apparently #11 in a series. I can't imagine really wanting to read/listen-to even another whole one let alone ten though.

It'a a frenetic, irreverent (crass+vulgar+random) Florida trivia goldmine.

I read three Tim Dorsey books this weekend and I'm definitely addicted. This one is my favorite so far. It was awesomely bizarre and hilarious. It made me laugh so hard at times, I thought I was going to pass out.

I love Serge and Coleman so much and I can't wait to read more about their truly insane Floridian adventures.

I found this book to be funny, witty, and a little disturbing-in a good way. Having not read any of the previous books in the series I was curious about the insane main character. The murders were inventive and horrible, everything a reader could want.

DNF. I'd never read anything by Tim Dorsey before, but I knew he writes in the "wacky Florida" genre popularized by Carl Hiaasen. And like Hiaasen, it turns out his books would be a lot funnier if the constant sexism, abuse, and other violence were toned down or at least not played for laughs. I'd write off the whole genre were it not for Dave Barry showing it's possible to find the humanity in it.

Decent but not a standout for this series. A little forced.
