It was well written and I enjoyed the story. But after about 2/3 of the book it got a little slow (repetitive, paced dragged, just kinda fizzled out) and the ending was, for me, a bit predicable. Nice read, but I probably won't reread it. Fun time travel romance.

*I received an Arc in exchange for an honest review.**
So I had such high expectations for this book. A ghost story but not exactly. A time travel story but not really.
There were parts of this novel were so well done. But the characters. They were just so wishy washy. The hero is rather feckless and gets involved in relationships that are completely inappropriate. I was hoping for an epic love story with paranormal aspects but I got a love story with other worldly interference and a man who could not decided what he wanted

I found myself just wanting to get through the book, not enjoying my time with the characters. Opening was great. But the time travel was too much for me.

The story seems long and rambling in parts, and I noticed that it repeated itself a few times, as if the reader couldn’t be trusted to remember what happened in the earlier parts of the book.
Joe and Nora probably had great stories, but they aren’t told here.

A very pleasant read, perfect for a night out on the deck with a glass of wine. Great descriptions of the place (all set in Grand Central Station) and time (especially the depression and WWII). Not a fan of either romances or ghost stories, but it was worth spending a summer night with this story.

The whole thing reminded me of an adult version of From The Mixed Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler - with all the action set without a beloved NY institution, where that institution (in this case GCS, in FtMuFoMBEF the Met) is a main character, if not THE main character.

Because of the limitations of their life (they have to stay in GCS and the adjoining hotel), their romance is pretty much limited to sex, since they can't really create a life together (although they act is if they would like to), which is probably more realistic than spending years just gazing at one another and doing a lot of yearning (Not that it's at all graphic or steamy).

Only complaint: Even though the author tried, I never bought Faye, the main character's rival for the hero's heart, as a real person.
