Wasn't nearly as good as the first. Gets a little over the top and away from the "this could really be happening right around us" idea.

Any other book would have gotten 5 stars right here but after Sandman Slim this fell a bit flap. Still, awesome book and the most kick-arse character I've ever come across.

I'm going to keep reading these Sandman Slim stories. But it gets tiresome that Sandman Slim gets so grouchy with everyone even the people who are clearly his best friends.

This volume was all about zombies and I've never been into zombies.

At least he's still got the talking head that he's actually becoming more friends with.

Maybe in [b:Aloha from Hell|10439703|Aloha from Hell (Sandman Slim, #3)|Richard Kadrey|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1302271758s/10439703.jpg|15344305] there will be a talking mouse.

I liked this so much better than book one. I knew the characters and the Sandman Slim universe so it just lets you get into the action. I would say that it is somewhat of a cop out ending though

I really enjoyed the first book in this series - it was surprising and funny and enjoyably gory. But the second one - not so much. Maybe because it took a while to get going, and spending time with a drunken, depressed, miserable half-angel is fairly tedious. I stuck with it, however, and the book did pick up and get me in - hence the three stars. Not sure if I'll keep going though.
