A heartwarmong story of one woman's journey of personal healing through her role as a Death Doula. The main character is interesting as she understands the needs of others yet has no insight into her own suffering. Would highly recommend this book to anyone involved in end of life care. Was given the title as a book club read for the Fiction Addiction Bookclub, probably would not have picked this up otherwise due to the sensitive subject matter however, this was handled sensutively and with warmth by the author.

Wonderful meditation on grief and how to cope as well as a peek inside a character who presents as autistic.

First of all: I loooved the writing! So beautiful, but also so funny! It gave me all the feels
Second of all: Claudia is such a great character

But this story isn’t about her. It’s about Clover (great name btw) and her search for a life. That sounds dramatic and depressing but you learn early on that she’s a loner. She’s always been a loner. You get to see what her life is like and how her childhood shaped her to be the woman she is at 36 years old.

Ofcourse, she meets someone and makes a friend. But this is not normal for Clover. She’s never made a friend before. Never had a first kiss. These are all firsts. You navigate through life with her, as she finally experiences things for the first time. This book discusses a lot of important issues as you follow along on her yourney. And what a journey it has been.
