I loved the pace of this story and it was a very good story to begin the book. The story had me questioning everyone except two characters and I was so wrong with my theory of what happened to Adam’s mistress. I felt that everyone was shady except one person but oh my my my..... The character I felt the worst for was Adam and I want to know did you end the book feeling that same way. Sarah I just did not connect with her on the level to feel bad for her but it all comes together in the end. I did not like the ending twist it just did not sit right with me when I closed the book and that dropped the rating from 4 stars to 3 and I will go on a limb and say that I am going to read The Perfect Divorce but the way the book ended if I did not already have the book on myself I would not be running out to grab it to dive in.

So many plot holes that left me confused, and not in a good way. Despite the alternating POV, the internal dialogue was pretty much the same and irked me. The way the sheriff behaved was unbelievable and made me cringe.
Do I need a minute or do I need to binge Jeneva’s newest book?

Title: The Perfect Marriage
Author: Jeneva Rose
Method of reading: Kindle
Rating: 2 ⭐️
Summary
"The Perfect Marriage" by Jeneva Rose is a psychological thriller that delves into the complexities of a seemingly ideal relationship. The story revolves around Sarah Morgan, a successful defense attorney, and her husband Adam, a struggling writer. Their lives are turned upside down when Adam is accused of murdering his mistress, Kelly Summers. As Sarah takes on the role of defending her husband in court, secrets and lies begin to unravel, putting their marriage to the ultimate test.
Strengths:
1) Fast-paced with numerous twists and turns that maintain suspense throughout
2) The courtroom drama adds an interesting layer to the story, providing a sense of urgency and tension
Weaknesses:
1) A significant criticism is the decision to write the story in first person. This narrative choice is problematic, particularly because it leads to an ending that feels confusing and implausible. I had more questions than answers.
2) The rationale behind certain characters' actions and motivations becomes muddled, leaving readers dissatisfied with the resolution.
3) The plot is overly reliant on clichés and predictable twists, which detracts from the impact of the story.
4) Clearly no research was done in the profession of lawyers or for the state of Virginia.
5) Many, if not all, of the characters despised. Adam’s infidelity and whininess, Sarah’s uptight and calculating demeanor, and of the other characters for being so bland.
Confusion:
While "The Perfect Marriage" has its moments of intrigue and suspense, it ultimately falls short due to its confusing ending and reliance on first-person narration. The flaw of not writing it in 3rd person significantly prevents the book from delivering a coherent conclusion. As a result, "The Perfect Marriage" earns a 2-star rating and is not recommended
