A beautiful, easy to read slow burn summer romance told over 17 years, Every Summer After tells of the summer friendship of Percy and Sam, a friendship slowly turned to romance and the heartbreak and betrayal, ending in a second chance romance.

This was was one of the cuter friends-to-lovers that I have read with a surprising ending.

The two main characters and their story were not compelling enough to me. They acted selfishly, were bad friends and partners to other people and each other, and were whiny for the majority of the book. Charlie was the most interesting character, and in the end I was most interested in his story and point of view which we never got. The writing was also a bit too straight-forward in my opinion (I wore this. He wore that. We ate that. We did that. etc). But it was good enough as a lighthearted beach read so if you go into it expecting that, you will enjoy it.

I absolutely adored this one! This one has me thinking that soulmates really *do* exist (lol). I loved the dual timeline and how we get to watch Percy and Same grow up and grow into who they are today. Sam's love for Percy is seriously the cutest thing. The spiciness is definitely laid back, but I don't mind because steam isn't a major factor in this storyline. This book was almost a perfect 5star read for me, until towards the end when my least favorite trope showed up. I knew it was coming, and had predicted it early on, but it still happened and I was quite upset lol. The ending and epilogue made up for it though! I definitely recommend this one :)

Carley, you did a great job writing this. That's for sure. You brought me to the place and feelings of the characters.

But, every time Persephone says stupid shit, I want to pull my hair out. Like wtf? I get that she was young and immature, but I thought she had sense. As the story progresses, I loathe her more than ever.

The boys aren't any better. They seem sweet and friendly, but GDI, they're horrible.

People make mistakes and most of us are flawed, but come on. I was so irritated.

It started strong; I was excited because I stay away from second-chance romances, but it went downhill quickly.

Didn’t connect with the characters initially but this improved about halfway in
