The diary entries were interesting and I didn't like any of the poems.

I cried and laughed and smiled and wept and smiled and wept again through this absolute phenomenon of a book.

Incredibly insightful and heartfelt- drags on a lot in the last quarter though, poems repeat themselves, but what i liked I LOVED so it’s hard to criticise

I love Hollie McNish's poetry – nobody talks more honestly or more humanly about being a mother, and her poetry blends the personal and the political nicely. That said, this book falls apart because the prose drags, the political commentary isn't saying anything new to her (predominantly left-wing) audience, and is just less interesting than the poetry.

I’m more excited than ever to be a mum :,) maybe 3 kids instead of 4 though.

Wow!
This book was gifted to me a while back and I'm so annoyed i did not read it sooner. This book had me laughing out loud then sobbing into a pillow and clutching my son. These poems I will go back to again and again!
As a breastfeeding mother of a toddler i particularly liked the commentary on breastfeeding past 6 months and also in public as i feel its a subject that not many people openly discuss and it was a joy seeing thoughts and feelings i had also had summed up so beautifully in poetry.
