I wanted to love this but I just couldn't. I really enjoyed the differing writing styles of the two writers but the prose was a bit cliché in my opinion. There were still some really good poems, but as a whole it was forgettable. I enjoyed "Before and After" but the highlight for me was the final piece "Grand Gesture"

So now that I have kindle unlimited I’m trying to get through all of Cherry’s works and I’m very happy I finally got to read this. It made me smile and calmed my heart after being very upset about the book I read before this. I really enjoyed a lot of these but I don’t think it had any long lasting impact on me. This also was my first poetry collection that I read. So it was fitting it was by Cherry.

short sweet heartfelt poems
Love letters or poems and a lot of them I understood have been there myself or have desired to feel what was written. Very relatable. Quick read!

When Kandi Steiner said:

the ones she spent alone,
that she understood lonely was not the absence of another person,
but rather the absence
of self-love."

This is the perfect poetry book to read on a quiet evening with a glass of wine. I could relate to so many poems. It was breathtakingly beautiful. Brava Kandi and Brittainy!!!
