“It’s never too late to chase the better version of yourself.”
If you didn’t like the first book like me, believe me when I say - the second one is definitely worth it.
You learn so much about the world and the end was not what I was expecting.
I listened to this on audible and Lauren Ezzo did a superb job

Celine's adventure continues in this next installment. We learn more about Arjun and Celine's backgrounds and the binding power of promises within the Vale. Bastien struggles to find his way back to himself given his recent changes.
I enjoyed the multi-POV format of this book and seeing the inner thoughts of the cast of main characters.

I loved this book so much it was the best sequel I have read in awhile every moment in the book was worth while it was so very good. I loved the characters so much I loved learning more about so many of the characters and learning the twists and turns of all of them along the way. The characters I loved best were Celine and Bastien I really loved when they were finally together again they just fit so well together. I loved Celine for her determination to know the truth and once she knew that I loved her want to do things her own way for herself with Bastien beside her for every moment. I loved Bastien for his want to be something more than what he is and to not be like his uncle no matter I really loved his love for Celine and his willingness to go above and beyond for her. I really liked the plot it starts where it left off with Bastien now a vampire and hating that and Celine wanting to know where all of these dreams come from I loved the twist and turns along the way and I am really looking forward to more books in this series. So overall I loved this book and I really want a sequel I am sure that will come no one would leave their story off this way right.
I enjoyed reading the second of this series and I look forward to reading the next one when it is completed.
i enjoyed this sequel, though the first half (or so) of the book was pretty slow. the constant changing of POVs was a bit distracting at first, as well. but once used to the style, i found it interesting to get “into the heads” of so many of the characters. i had expected this book to conclude the series (as the author’s previous works have been duologies), but this book was not resolved in the end, so i anticipate at least one more book, which i look forward to reading.
this kinda pissed me off they added way to much elements in this randomly like celine ending up being a fae ?? stupid it was a huge disappointment from the first book the way i felt in the first book everything so for me this didn’t hit the mark
