This entire book had me on the edge of my seat! SPOILERS AHEAD

I'm not normally a fan of the amnesia trope, but this was well written. I loved the change to multiple POVs as we get to understand Bastien as he changed, the thoughts of both the vamps and the wolves, as well as the fey! Blink and you'll miss it but I totally saw a Twilight reference too!

After reading the Beautiful I was sure what I could expect from this book, or at least the realm of possibilities it would fall into. But boy was I wrong. Renee Ahdieh opened up a completely new world in this book, literally. Damn, I did not see this coming.

The Damned is a really good book and if you liked the Beautiful, definitely read it.
The storyline was definitely interesting, I just wish there would've been more chapters in Celene's POV. But I'm definitely not complaining about seeing more Bastien.

The world Renee Ahdieh created was beautiful, I just would've preferred more descriptions of it so I could imagine it better.

Either way it's a beautiful book and I absolutely recommend reading it. Can't wait to find out what happens in the next one.

I still really enjoyed this one but not as much as the beautiful. Maybe too many points of views incorporated. I needed more from Celine’s perspective and felt that her strong personality was tampered down so much. Even with the aftermath of the traumatic event i expected a bit more from her with the witty responses. Especially towards the end of the book.

The boat scene brought all of the cards in play together nicely but I felt like it was missing something. Celine notes she’ll talk to Michael when they return but it jumps POV’s so much and never really addresses this. The inclusion of the French detective was a nice touch.

While I definitely enjoyed "The Beautiful" far more than its sequel, I am fascinated by the world Ahdieh created and how she weaves different plot elements in a way that makes a surprise that much more of a shocker as you read the story. My favorite of her works is still "The Wrath and the Dawn" duology, but this one is a close second, even making me enjoy the YA vampire genre, which I typically despise with a passion. The fantasy elements, the historical elements, the romance - all of this Ahdieh weaves together to create a wonderful world that she is still exploring.
Plus, who couldn't love these covers??
