The fmc constantly repeated herself about how Mahl would lose himself quickly after he transformed which is really annoying. Ruby has also reduced the overuse of the word utterly which is something I appreciate.

This series is a bit hit or Miss for me

I really do have issues with some of the books in this series- though I love Ruby Dixon’s writing so much that I continued to buy them. I’m glad I read this one. Everything about this book was wonderful. I liked Jenny right away and Mahl is such an interesting male lead.

The nightmarish big story is disturbing but I’m interested in the conclusion. The kids are absolutely adorable. The only thing stopping me from jumping head first into the final book is that I really don’t care about the future leads. Neither the female nor the male have made me excited to read their story. But, as I said, I do want to know how the arc ends.

Either way, I really enjoyed this story so much. Definitely one of the hits of the series!
