my least favorite book in the series mainly because of Ace/Nico i did not like that man and what he did to Gianna so i already had beef with him before starting.

what tipped me off was him being a child over a stupid plastic ring while having his FIANCÉ move into his house where his housekeeps/ cook and ex fuck buddy still worked there and him being excited for the confrontation, Nico are you fucking stupid?
honestly Elena was too classy for him, in the end she didn't give him the satisfaction and just fired her.
i LOVEDDDD the scene where Christian intentionally flirted with Elena to get back at Nico for sleeping with Gianna. and Nico actually got jealous over Elena and Christian in his own engagement party with her sister

Ugh does it get any better than Nico freaking Russo? ❤️

I have a lot of things to say but first let me clear something, I think dark romance isn’t for me.
I couldn’t stand the misogyny this book had and the objectification of women, it was too much.
At first I really like Elena’s character but she disappointed me, I didn’t feel any depth in her character and she was too submissive to Nicolas so soon and she lacked self respect.

“And it began. He was going to parade girls in front of me like I was nothing. Maybe he thought that because I wasn't a virgin I didn't deserve his respect.”
I wanted to punch her here.
Also this part icked me :

“However, infidelity was a fixed denominator in a Made Man. Like a surfer and a board. A writer and a pen.
You couldn't separate the two. And asking would be a fruitless endeavor.”

And for Mr Nicolas, I don’t like him at all he was so hard to like and misogynistic :

“I wanted to know how many men there'd been, their names, and everything they did to her, so I could do it twice as hard and make her forget they existed.
I wondered if she was on the pill, and in a disturbing way kind of hoped she wasn't. I wanted an irrevocable tie to this woman. I wanted to write my name on her skin, to do all kinds of fucked-up shit so she knew she was mine. Like lock her in my room and hand-feed her.”

Yeah so this is my review and as I said before I just think dark romance isn’t for me if these are the themes that I am going to find in every book of this genre.
I don’t know what I was expecting, maybe a badass female character who was against the norms of her society and isn’t going to ask her husband and beg him not to cheat on her or a girl who isn’t going to belittle herself just because she’s not a virgin. I swear reading this book felt like talking to someone in the 80s or 90s and telling them that wake up women are not properties and they also have brains and they can take care of themselves too.
