I loved this book, until the last 100 pages. Easton's family and Henley just annoyed me because they knew why Easton didn't want Henley to go rafting and yet they all pushed for it - and guess what, it turned into a mental breakdown. The book redeemed itself in the last few chapters. I love the whole family and I think Bridger is the brother that most intrigues me.
Steal My Heart was my first Laura Pavlov book and I really enjoyed it! I will definitely be checking out her other books after reading this one.
Henley was a lovable character for me right from the beginning. She has just moved to Rosewood River to start working at her father’s law firm. She does not want any special treatment because she is the boss’s daughter and wants to prove herself with her ability to do her job.
Easton is known as “the shark.” He is a great lawyer and is set to be Henley’s mentor. Easton immediately gives Henley a hard time but she just keeps her head down and works to prove herself. The tension between these two starts in almost immediately. They have great back and forth banter which I found fun to read. Both are really quick on their feet which made for a fun dynamic.
Easton was a little frustrating for me because of the back-and-forth with his relationship with Henley but it will make sense why he acts that way. Overall, I really enjoyed the development of their relationship. I loved meeting the Chadwick’s and the charming small town of Rosewood River.

After reading this one, I remember why I quit the previous series! Let's just say that on this charming small town - just like the previous charming small town - all the main characters "waggle" their eyebrows and "smirk" so much it gives neurological disorder.
I beg you Laura - do not pay your editor bill until they help you find a way to describe these emotions using different words.

I really enjoyed this! It was a great start to a new series and it was fun seeing Beefcake (and others) from the Magnolia Falls series to tie these series’ together! Henley and Easton were perfect for each other and I laughed so hard with the pickleball scene and how Henley firmly put Easton in his place. Easton had a lot of trauma to work through and I think the mental health discussion was done really well.
Ml was a little to mean in the beginning for my liking but he made up for it. i was they went into my detail about the law part but that’s just the law student in me speaking.

This pains me to say because I truly do enjoy Laura
Pavlov’s writing but this missed the mark for me. The writing felt stilted and juvenile compared to her recent releases and lacked emotional depth. I didn’t like or dislike the characters which in itself is the issue. I found myself skimming towards the end just wanting to be done. There was no sense of mystery and you knew immediately what was going to happen and what the big third act issue would be from early on.
