It took me a bit with volume 1 to get invested but after volume 2 I am solidly locked in. The pacing is goo, the characters are lively and interesting and the story has me very invested. I love an unhinged man down bad for his lady. But beyond that their slow emotional connection is so endearing. Mad I have to wait for July to read the next volume.

It's dark and tense, but has a tone of lightness, but not enough to tag it as such. Volume 2 especially gets into darker interpersonal conflicts as truths emerge and grudges are made (but maybe also lightened). But there is humor and heart to the story all the same, so I do think "hopeful" could be accurate as well to a degree.
