If the goal was to build anticipation, Katee Robert succeeded. The Wedding Pact is a risk filled, emotional whirlwind that will take the reader out of their normal comfort zone. I received an ARC of The Wedding Pact in exchange for an honest review. There were times I found it so fast paced that it was hard to follow but for the most part I loved the no holds barred action and the against the odds romance. The internal battle of right and wrong was a great theme for this read. Now I have to read the first book.
Katee Robert’s never lets me down. Ugh the tension and the family drama in the series keeps me so hooked. Can’t wait to read the next book

Second book in the O'Malley series focused on sister Carrigan, and her affair with James Halloran, the man that once kidnapped her and whose family killed her younger brother. These two should hate each other, and while their families certainly do, they find they cannot keep their attraction at bay. The two start a secret affair that isn't so secret.
At the same time, the head of the O'Malley clan is trying to marry off his daughter before she becomes an old spinster and can't give him any heirs to their mega mobster family. This brings in other bad dudes, and a bit more drama in the end.

For what they are, this series is pretty addictive. I mean, sure, I had to struggle through the first little bit in order to get into the rhythm of trashy romance again, but eventually I steamrolled through the rest of the book.
Arranged marriages are rare in the US, so how do you solve that for a good story? Warring mobster families! I'm not complaining. The steamy scenes helped.
